Travel Hacks - My Essentials for a VW Bus Surf Trip

$
0
0

A little while ago we went on a trip with two VW busses to Italy, to chase waves. As there is mostly only some swell in Winter, we did not know if there will be any waves. But we were super lucky to find out that the spot in Recco was working with decent waves. Before and after that, we were enjoying the Italian lifestyle, having lots of Capucchinos and Pizza.

With our VW busses we stayed in a beautiful camping called Framura, right at the seaside. It was a bit cold in the night, but definitely a nice experience. As we were still in the pre season - you know this is something I love, we had almost the entire camping area for ourselves.
Something to keep in mind when traveling with a VW Bus is to be organized and not bring tons of stuff, as you need the space in the car to be able to sleep in there. As I am definitely not camper girl, or at least I never went camping the last few years, I had to think of packing. So I went to some outdoor shops and asked brands I work with for some inputs.

I ended up buying some outdoor gear like special lights for camping, and of course a sleeping bag and I already had my beloved NorthFace Bag which I always bring on surftrips. And I even bought - as a joke - a survival book to read what you could do if you were out in the wild. Not that we were, but you never know what happens.
A new gadgets were brought to me by Gilette. They have this tiny little pocket razor, the Gilette Venus Embrace Snap, which you can bring everywhere. And as I was wearing a short wetsuit during this trip, this was a great addition to my travel essentials. One morning I went paddling in the sea, as we weren’t expecting any waves. And as the location was just breathtaking we shoot some pictures.
If you plan an upcoming trip, I’ve got a surprise for you - make sure to check my instagram @bonsoircherieblog to not miss it.

Another product I will introduce in a next entry - stay tuned!
Happy weekend!

Summer arrived and is brought us so many amazingly beautiful and warm days already.
I could sit in lake resorts all summer long,  drink iced coffee, read magazines and enjoy the sun.
I totally fell in love with the retro swimsuit by solid and striped. I really like the fact, that swimsuits came back into fashion. And with the orange and pink tinted sunglasses the world instantly looks like cloud 9. Find yours and join the lovers club!

Occasionwear for summer cocktails

Dear All

The wedding and event season is on and with it the question what to wear. I will share some outfit inspiration in two parts. In this post am actually showing a dress, that could even be kind of a wedding dress for a bohemian wedding. I definitely don't recommend to wear it as a wedding guest.

But - there are other occasions where you are allowed to dress up - and -  to wear white. For example a chic summer reception or a cocktail. Or if you go to the Opera you can also wear such a robe and feel like Cinderella.

The dress is from Frock and Frill and I got it via Zalando. Where I do my (mostly last minute) occasion wear shopping. Because running around from store to store is just very stressful if you are working full time and are as late as I am most of the time.
So you can just get your selection delivered at your home and try it on in a relaxed mood. I am now ready for any occasion which asks for a proper dress, only in need of an invitation now. With the dress that follows in the second post I will also give you an option to attend a wedding as a guest - with a romantic and chic dress.

We shot the pictures in Rome in front of the Colosseo where there were many many people around us, so we decided to take a walk a bit to find a quiet spot. We were super lucky to find this oldtimer Mercedes Cabrio which I would love to call mine..

5 Steps Hammam Ritual for your Home Spa

Dear All

As you all know if you follow me on my social channels, I am a travel addict and always on the road.
So sometimes you have to relax and calm down at home. This is why I love the principle of Hammam. You have to take your time to follow the steps and through that you automatically slow down and concentrate on the ritual.

The one I show you is in cooperation with Rituals

1. Clean your skin with the Black Soap, which is nourishing and at the same moment deep pore cleansing. Take a Kessa Massage glove and rub it off your body.

2. Use the Hot Scrub to peel your skin and get refreshed by the scent of ginger.

3. With the Body Mud you cleanse your skin further in a very gentle way.

4. Soothe your skin with the foaming soap gel. It can also be used for a foaming massage.

5. Give your skin the ultimate nourishment with the Body Cream.

And then you can start daydreaming again of future trips. I always keep my mind close to my favorite destinations with having my surfboard in sight and surrounding myself with beautiful seaside pictures at home.

The Italian Dream - Summer in Rome

Let me take you to the magical streets of Rome. I've spent a long weekend there with a dear friend and can't help but fall in love with every corner of this city. The warmth of the Romans is one of a kind. I forced my friend to visit all the famous places as well, because I can't resist to say "hello" to places I have in mind. Even if it is a tourist thing, those places have some magic. I recommend though to go see the places early in the morning or late at night, otherwise you get run over by the people who had the same idea during the day. And I can tell, there are many.

So we went to see the Piazza di Spagna, the Fontana di Trevi, and the Pantheon. And the best thing was to walk through the streets and discover so many lovely things on the way there. For example we went by accident in the Café Greco where we made the acquaintance of a lovely old man who was a painter and he sits in the most famous cafés in Italy to paint the guests and he is doing this for his entire life. He was such a charming man and told us stories out of his life. This kind of encounter kept happening to us and made the trip so special. And we ended our trip - before lunch - with an ice cream from the best Gelateria of Rome: Giolitti. I can only approve, it is out of this world.

I am wearing a flower dress from which is the second part of my occasion wear series. This dress from Chi Chi London I would totally wear for a wedding or a nice garden cocktail. It is romantic, elegant, not too short but still with its charms. The shoes are from Office and I must say so far I was able to combine them to several looks and really like how they complete an outfit.

I'm wearing:

Silver Heels: Office by Zalando
Bag: Rebecca Minkoff
Glasses: Preen
World Pendant Necklace: By Ortiz

Ponza - Italianita on a paradise island

I still haven't shared all the pictures from our trip to the lovely island Ponza which is located 2 hours away from Rome in the mediterranean sea. We found the most perfect little alleys to get lost and take pictures.

I can only recommend to visit this place. We've rented a little airbnb at the port and explored the island for two days. Finding a secret beach down a hill and eating the best seafood and pizza you can imagine. For me Italy is just unbeatable with it's charm. And on this island I felt so detached and happy it was truly special.

In August it is probably a bit full, due to all the Italians having their holidays if you're looking for a party vacation. But afterwards in September it will be calmer and relaxing again.
What are your favorite summer spots? Any recommendations?

What is this Influencer Business?

$

Dear All

First of all, happy Monday! I hope you enjoyed your weekend to the fullest. I had a very special Saturday, attending a wonderful influencer event by Katrin Roth, founder of sonrisa and Move it. A bunch of swiss influencers came together, listening to a speech by Anne Höwler, PR Pro at Cover PR Germany and learning lots about the influencer business. The event title says it all - everything is in motion. And at this point it is super helpful to sit together, share thoughts and strategies and most important - listen to the pioneers and learn how they experience the development this field is going through. There are brands who haven't been active in influencer marketing from scratch on and are still developing their strategies. And there are a lot of existing traditional marketing strategies who have to be reformed and to be customized for each brand and influencer.
The most beautiful thing is, that now is the time, all of this will be formed and executed. So I am excited to be part of this and to witness the happening on both sides. In my role as a PR for a brand and as a blogger with over five years in the "influencer" business.
Let's see where this all leads us to. And most important, never forget the passion that fueled you once to start all this. Even if there are so many bloggers out there, that you can think there is no sense of keeping it up, I have to point out how amazing it is, that every single one of us gets a platform where we can express our personal creativity. And in best case attract brands for creative collaborations. And at this stage - as always - time will tell. But I am convinced the most important thing is to openly discuss goals and needs of brand and influencer and always try to find a individual way of working. There is no clear strategy who fits every influencer. As everyone has other goals and needs it is necessary for both sides to invest time in the beginning to see what can be created together and time will tell if it was an experience or ends up as an amazing longterm collaboration.
I am happy to have started early with blogging, just because it taught me so many things. You can do your own case studies and find business solutions without any risk. And you get to know so many brands in a way more personal way than it has ever been possible as a client but only as an intern or employee. Start creating and exploring and try to discover what the world needs now. Right now we are all experimenting as our own AD's trying to present products to customers in the most creative and appealing way. And in the end it is way more than offered goodies and money. Everyone dreams of making a business out of what they love doing. Blogging is for me one of those things - with a lot of effort and dedication you will come to a point where you get rewarded for your work. This doesn't have to be necessarily visible in the amount of followers you gained. But way more in the expertise you were able to develop and in the projects you get involved step by step.
I am curious to see how this is going to progress and which role will influencers take over in the marketing world. What are your thoughts about this?

And - as I want to stay true to where I started I am sharing a typical style inspriation post with you. I love casual weekends, dressing in sportswear and lounging around but always ready when there is something going on. This is why I am very much in love with the adidas original collections. To work with brands I truly like is something I am very grateful for.

Pictures are made by my lovely mamma - who learned a lot about photography during my blogger years. Another positive part of blogging, you start at a point with your friends and family and you can grow together.

Cheesy I know. But all these stories about influencers made me think a lot, and I wanted to express what it all means to me.

Happy Weekend everyone!

Let's enjoy some of the last warm days and hit the lakeside. If I would only be able to get up earlier in the mornings than every sunny day could start with a swim and a coffee by the lake. Still working on my early bird skills.
These pictures were taken right in front of Bad Utoquai, one of two places I regularly go for a swim.
And another thing you definitely have to try if you did not until now is Stand Up Paddeling. You can spot them on the right and left of the entrance. To be honest I have to admit I had some prejudices against this sport as it just seemed not exactly as exciting as surfing.
But I figured out it is pretty exhausting if you do it right and as well super nice as you are floating on the lake but able to move forward quite fast.

It's been about a week ago since we spent a wonderful evening high up on a private rooftop in Zurich for a special sport event. We were able to enjoy a mixed workout starting with a Breakletics lesson by Leandro Fortino who teaches at Balboa and followed by a Yoga lesson by Yogini Diana from O yoga. After these two workouts I was pretty exhausted but super happy. And of course we didn't let the opportunity pass by to take some picutres for our blogs with this outstanding view.
With a MyClubs membership you get access to more than 200 studios where you can train, according to your daily mood and location. I will give you an update soon about where I trained with my personal recommendations.

Today it's all about getting pampered. I am introducing Treatwell to you. With this app you can book your Beauty and SPA appointments easily online. Even on short notice you just enter the app and find a studio nearby which has a free space.
If it is a manicure, pedicure a haircut, a waxing or a relaxing massage, they offer it all.

I booked my appointments the night before and was super happy with both treatments. I first went to the Salon EN VOGUE in Zurich Seefeld to get a new haircut. With Zoltan, I had the most gentle and kind hairdresser, I did not even notice he was working on my hair. And I am super happy with the result. The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. The salon is small but still spacey and cozy. You can find some more EN VOGUE salons in Zurich, for example in Bahnhofstrasse.

Next stop was at Tally Beauty. I booked an appointment to do my nails. As I don't like it when it looks to artificial I always go for short gel nails in subtle colors. The lady in the salon had the most beautiful surname - Del Mar. The salon is located on the top floor of the Tally Weijl in Bahnhofstrasse, on a very central location. They have a beautiful bright interior and it is a bit separated from the rest of the store through the architecture. They also offer haircuts, touch ups if you need to get your hair done for events and they color your hair.

WIN A 150CHF VOUCHER for your own SPA moment with treatwell.

After talking about all the benefits of treatwell I wanna give you the chance to experience it yourself. Leave me a comment under this post to say which treatment you would like to try and in which salon and we will choose a winner out of all the comments. Go to www.treatwell.ch and have a look what you would like.

I will also post on instagram @bonsoircherieblog  and on my facebook so you have three chances to take part.
We will choose a winner on Sunday, 17th of September on midnight.

Snowy days in Laax - Hit the slopes in style

As we have the privilege in Switzerland to be surrounded by mountains I often use the weekends to go snowboarding.  If you follow me on instagram (@bonsoircherieblog) you might have seen some recent stories up in the mountains. My most favorite ski resort is Flims Laax Falera as they have everything to offer. And what I personally love about this resort are the wide and rather flat slopes. You have enough space and it is not very steep. And they have a halfpipe and a snowpark, which I don't use but I love to watch the ones you know how to ride those. And they have a coffeeplace called "No Name" which offers Vegan Paninis to die for.

So we took the chance to take some snowy pictures high up in the mountains some weeks ago and I'd love to share with you the result and with it my favorites if it comes to snowboarding and skiing gear.
And not to forget - I did not put a helmet in the selection - but this is for me one of the most important features if you hit the slopes. It's most fun if you put safety first.

Enjoy some snow!

Autumn Getaway - The Perfect Weekend I

A few weeks ago we were heading to a weekend to Austria and Germany. I have a special bond to both of these countries since my parents are from there and there will always be memories to family trips there. We could not have chosen a better time for our trip than late autumn. The trees were showing their most amazing colors. To drive through serpentine streets up the hills was just magical.

We started our journey in Zurich in direction Pertisau, a little village by the lake in Achenkirch. In the wonderful Hotel Entners am See we found the perfect place to come down and unplug. The view from our room on the lake was just breathtaking. I was visiting the place several times before and always thought I would love to stay at this place. The most amazing thing next to the view was their spa area. They not only had a huge indoor spa but also the most amazing outdoor infinity pool inside the lake.

Autumn Getaway - The Perfect Weekend II - Up In The Mountains

We took the boat from Pertisau to cross the lake and went on a beautiful hike starting from Buchenau up to Dalfazalm. We only did not consider that it was quite a high amount of height meters we had to overcome. So we ended up happy but a bit exhausted at the top to continue doing what we spent most of our time these days: eating Kaiserschmarrn and drinking coffee. I can highly recommend the route from Buchenau up to Dalfazalm, along the waterfalls and then walking through the forest to the Rofan mountain range. The walk was very rich in variety in terms of view.

I am wearing an outfit I was allowed to choose from La Redoute.
The down jacket was perfect when we reached the waterfall, otherwise I would have got soaking wet. And my shirt says "Life is going on - keep moving" - a quote I really like. Never stop exploring and discover new places and get outdoors in the nature.

Autumn Getaway - The Perfect Weekend III

After three days in Pertisau we continued our journey to Tegernsee in Bavaria and further to Munich where we enjoyed a day at the Octoberfest. To finish our trip we drove to Schwangau to visit the famous castle "Schloss Neuschwanstein" which was actually the model of several castles in Disney movies. The most breathtaking view was the one from far away, since you could not guess by then how many people are having the same aim and will gaze at the castle next to you.

We were happy to be supported by Volvo with their brand new V90 Cross Country. In their new campaign it's all about taking a break and living the moment. "You can't live it all, unless you can live fully. Now."Volvo quotes the english philosopher Alan Watts (1959) and hits a topic which is more present than ever. So that's exactly what we did - we took a break, escaped the daily live and enjoyed the forests and nature in Austria and Bavaria. And with the most comfortable car ever as our companion. It was driving almost by itself and allowed a relaxed journey. The amazing soundsystem and the massage function (which honestly surprised us by its quality - even some humans could learn from this car) inside the seat were the cherries on the top.

Many thanks to Volvo for the kind support and to my amazing driver Michelle <3

No Time for November Blues - Styles for Autumn

When it gets colder many of us rather stay home and miss the warm temperatures. So do I - but I always try to still get outside and charge energy in the nature. Get some fresh air and unwind in the forest helps to keep me happy. I love to spend a longer weekend up in the mountains. One of my favorite places to go to is called Eigental and is very close by where I grew up. To go up there on a Sunday is something we used to do as a family very often. So here you find a look to go on a long weekend in November. This is not the typical outfit I go on long walks with but more an Autumn Sunday Look. With a cozy sweater and some flat knee high boots and Jeans you're perfectly set for a little walk. And if you change the boots for sneakers you're also set for the dirt walks through the forest.
What are your plans to escape the well know November Blues?
